SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THOROUGHBRED RESCUE

"Pinedale" is available for adoption. Pinedale is an adorable six year old bay TB gelding. He never raced, although he is a well bred and Breeders Cup nominated thoroughbred. We purchased Pinedale at auction in February 2008 to prevent him from shipping out of state to slaughter. Pinedale is a large, very solidly built horse, with an exceptionally broad shoulder and hindend. Despite having a birth /conformational defect which means that his back is "humped", he is sound at all gaits. The veterinarian's assessment is that he will be sound for all flat disciplines, both English and Western, although his conformation defect means that he will not be suitable for jumping. Pinedale may require ongoing chiropractic and/or equine massage therapy to be phyiscally comfortable. He has a wonderful temperament - he would sit in your lap if he could! - and would make a terrific and loving equine partner for riders of all ages. Pinedale is being adopted out as green broke or race broke only, and requires an adopter experienced with re-training off track thoroughbreds or working with an experienced trainer. Pinedale is up to date on vaccinations, deworming, farrier, and dental work. A full veterinary report is available upon request.
